About Safety Net

What Is Safety Net?

Safety Net provides free community safety tools for real-time crisis response. It enables communities to coordinate mutual aid, crisis response, and citizen responder networks—free for every community.

Unlike proprietary platforms, Safety Net is built as infrastructure that anyone can implement and no one can own. Like email (SMTP) or the web (HTTP), it's designed to be a universal standard for how communities help each other.

Safety Net is crafted by Zen Computing and Design, LLC. There are no ads, no data harvesting. Free forever.

The Problem We're Solving

  • Response times are too slow: Average 911 response is 7-14 minutes. For cardiac arrest, brain damage begins in 4-6 minutes.
  • 400M cameras, zero coordination: Ring, Nest, body cams—all siloed. When emergencies happen, this footage is invisible to responders.
  • Communities are disconnected: We have technology everywhere but community nowhere. Neighbors don't know each other's names.
  • Small departments can't afford technology: Fusion centers cost millions. Rural America is left behind.
"Most people are good. They just need a way to show up for each other."

Talking Points

🛡

It's a Protocol, Not a Product

Like email (SMTP) or the web (HTTP), Safety Net is open infrastructure. Any city can implement it. Any company can build on it. No vendor lock-in.

💰

Free Forever, No Strings Attached

Safety Net is free for every community. No ads, no data harvesting. Cities and departments pay nothing.

🔒

Privacy by Design

Everything is opt-in. Camera sharing requires explicit approval for each incident. Data stays local. Users control their information.

👥

Trained, Verified Responders

Citizen responders are background-checked and trained in Stop the Bleed, CPR, and scene safety. A tiered certification system ensures quality.

🏠

Rebuilding the Village

Beyond emergencies, Safety Net helps neighbors help neighbors—wellness checks, food trains, skill sharing. Community, not just crisis response.

🌐

Global Scale, Local Control

Each community runs their own node. Data stays sovereign. No US company controls foreign infrastructure. Customize for local laws and culture.

Jesse Bever

Founder & Systems Architect

Jesse brings 25+ years of enterprise IT experience to Safety Net, having built and scaled systems for organizations of all sizes. Based in Helena, Montana, he created Safety Net after recognizing that the technology to save lives already exists—it just isn't connected.

"I watched COVID reveal how disconnected we've become. Neighbors didn't know each other. People suffered alone. We have cameras on every doorstep and phones in every pocket, but when emergencies happen, none of it talks to each other. That has to change."
